Chelsea goalkeeper Jorgensen joins Strasbourg on season-long loan

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has completed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg as he looks to secure regular first-team football.
The 24-year-old Jorgensen joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024 and has made 36 appearances for the club across the past two seasons.
The move to Strasbourg comes after new head coach Hugo Oliveira reportedly identified the need for a goalkeeper comfortable with playing out from the back. The French club had previously worked with Mike Penders, who returned to Stamford Bridge following his loan spell
Jorgensen’s move is another example of the close relationship between Chelsea and Strasbourg, with both clubs part of the BlueCo ownership group.
The Danish international played an important role in Chelsea’s run to the UEFA Conference League title in May 2025, starting all but one of the club’s matches in the competition.
Later that summer, Jorgensen added another major honour to his collection when Chelsea won the FIFA Club World Cup.
The goalkeeper made 12 appearances for Chelsea last season across four different competitions and will now aim to establish himself as Strasbourg’s first-choice goalkeeper during the upcoming campaign.
