Senglea Gunners win Joe Compagno Cup
Senglea Gunners added another trophy to their collection after defeating Marsa St Michael 2-0 to win the MAFA Joe Compagno Cup.
Nehemiah Perry was the hero for Senglea, scoring both goals in the first half. He opened the scoring in the 35th minute before finding the net again in the 45th to give his side a commanding advantage which they maintained until the final whistle.
Following last Saturday’s success, Senglea now turn their attention to another opportunity for silverware as they prepare to face Naxxar Victorians in the Twanny Agius Fair Play Cup.
Senglea won this competition last season as part of an impressive campaign in which they also lifted the 70th Anniversary Cup and MAFA Knock-Out Cup.
They will now be looking to retain the Twanny Agius Fair Play Cup and make it two honours already this season.
