Artistic Swimming Officially Launched in Gozo
Otters ASC is delighted to officially announce the launch of Artistic Swimming in Gozo, following a successful trial held earlier this summer.
The initiative has been in development since the beginning of 2026 through ongoing collaboration between Otters ASC and ASA Malta, and has now come to fruition with the official launch of the programme.
As part of the agreement, ASA Malta National Artistic Swimming Technical Director and Head Coach Michelle Hubner will visit Gozo twice a week throughout the winter season, supported by National Team Coach and European Aquatics Technical Official Hannah Preca Trapani. The programme also builds on the successful summer trial under the guidance of coach Davida from Synchro Knights, which helped introduce children in Gozo to the sport.
The launch represents a significant opportunity for young athletes in Gozo to discover and develop their skills in Artistic Swimming while benefiting from high-level national coaching on the island, without having to travel to Malta.
This milestone reflects Otters ASC’s vision of becoming a comprehensive aquatic sports hub for Gozo, offering opportunities for athletes of different ages, abilities and interests across a range of aquatic disciplines.
With the introduction of Artistic Swimming, Otters ASC becomes the first club in Malta to offer four official aquatic disciplines under one club structure:
Swimming
Artistic Swimming
Water Polo
Open Water Swimming
Otters ASC would like to thank ASA Malta, National Coaches Michelle Hubner, and Hannah Preca Trapani, coach Davida, as well as all the coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters who have contributed to making this initiative possible.
A new discipline. A new opportunity. A bigger future for aquatic sport in Gozo.
