Ciantar hits 62 break as Mintoff and Falzon win Snooker Masters deciders

Philip Ciantar recorded a convincing 4–1 victory over David Zammit in the CE Installations Premier League, compiling the match’s highest break of 62.
The latest domestic snooker action also brought a Second Division win for Kevin Vella, while both Masters encounters went to deciding frames, with Frans Mintoff and Clinton Falzon emerging victorious.
Ciantar’s performance provided the scoring highlight of the four matches. His break of 62 accompanied a clear victory over Zammit, who managed to take one frame but could not prevent his opponent from securing the four needed to win.
The five-frame encounter ended with Ciantar holding a three-frame winning margin, the largest among the results.
In the Second Division, Kevin Vella defeated Christopher Muscat 3–1. Vella claimed three of the four frames played to complete his victory without the need for a decider, with Muscat taking one frame in reply.
The Masters matches were more closely contested, with both requiring the full five frames to determine a winner.
Frans Mintoff edged Clayton Castaldi 3–2 after the pair shared the opening four frames. Mintoff then claimed the deciding frame to settle a tight encounter.
Clinton Falzon secured an identical result against Brian Caruana. With neither player able to settle the match inside four frames, Falzon came through the fifth to complete a narrow 3–2 victory.
The two Masters results contrasted with the clearer winning margins recorded by Ciantar and Vella, with Mintoff and Falzon both having to negotiate a final-frame contest.
