Malta FA and UEFA provide €32,386 in storm damage assistance to 24 clubs

Twenty-four football clubs will receive a total of €32,386 in financial assistance from the Malta Football Association and UEFA to help cover damage to their facilities caused by Storm Harry in January 2026.
Following the storm, which caused significant disruption and damage across Malta, the Malta FA invited affiliated clubs to submit details of the damage sustained at their facilities, together with quotations for the necessary repair works.
A total of 24 clubs submitted the required documentation and qualified for assistance under the scheme.
UEFA allocated €28,000 towards the initiative, with the financial assistance covering 40 per cent of eligible repair expenses, subject to a maximum eligible damage amount of €4,000 per club.
This means that each participating club can receive a maximum grant of €1,600.
Based on the information submitted by the 24 clubs, the total assistance payable under the scheme amounts to €32,386.
As this exceeds UEFA’s allocation, the Malta FA will contribute an additional €4,386 to ensure that all participating clubs receive the full amount due to them.
The initiative is intended to help clubs meet the costs of repairing storm-damaged facilities and restoring them following the disruption caused by Storm Harry.
