Nadur Youngsters booked their place in the next round of the GFA Second Division Knockout competition after defeating Munxar Falcons 2-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Tuesday.

The preliminary-round encounter remained goalless for more than an hour before Nadur finally broke the deadlock through Kurt Xuereb.

Xuereb struck in the 68th minute to put the Youngsters ahead after Munxar had managed to keep their opponents at bay during the opening stages of the match.

Nadur needed only another four minutes to double their advantage and effectively put the contest beyond their opponents.

Junior Claudir Marini found the net in the 72nd minute to make it 2-0 and secure Nadur’s passage to the next round.

Munxar were unable to find a response during the closing stages as Nadur comfortably protected their two-goal advantage until the final whistle.
