Aston Villa ready to consider Konsa sale as Arsenal assess move

Arsenal have been informed that Aston Villa would consider selling Ezri Konsa for the right price, with the Gunners now weighing up how far they are prepared to go to sign the England international.
Arsenal are expected to make another approach for the 28-year-old defender after Aston Villa rejected an initial offer worth around £35 million.
Villa are understood to value Ezri Konsa at more than £60 million, but Arsenal have been reluctant to meet that figure given the defender has less than two years remaining on his contract.
The Gunners remain active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen both their defence and attack before the deadline. Konsa has emerged as a potential target because of his versatility, experience and ability to operate in multiple defensive positions.
The main issue for Arsenal is now deciding how much they are willing to pay for the England international.
Sources have indicated to Flashscore that Villa would be open to a sale if a suitable offer arrives. The club are continuing to assess the market while also dealing with their own financial restrictions.
A significant departure could therefore be considered if the deal makes financial sense and gives Villa the opportunity to reshape and improve their squad.
Konsa’s departure would be a blow to the Aston Villa squad, with teammates understood to have been concerned about the possibility of losing one of their most important players this summer.
The defender joined Villa from Brentford in 2019 and has since established himself as a key figure at the club. He made 48 appearances in all competitions last season and has also become a regular member of the England national team.
His versatility, experience and defensive quality are among the main reasons Arsenal believe he could provide valuable depth to their squad ahead of the new season.
