Mazzotta names 30-man Malta Under-21 squad for final European qualifiers

Malta Under-21 national team coach Davide Mazzotta has named a 30-player squad for the final three matches of the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign.
The Maltese youngsters will conclude their Group F commitments during the September-October international window, with two home fixtures against Northern Ireland and Germany followed by an away encounter against Latvia.
Malta will first host Northern Ireland at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday, 26 September, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm.
Mazzotta’s side will then face Germany at the same venue on Wednesday, 30 September, also at 7pm, in their final home match of the qualifying campaign.
The team will subsequently travel to Riga for their concluding Group F fixture against Latvia at the Daugava Stadium on Tuesday, 6 October, with kick-off at 6pm.
The three encounters will provide Malta’s young players with further international experience as they seek to conclude their qualifying campaign with positive performances.
Mazzotta’s provisional selection includes four goalkeepers, eight defenders, nine midfielders and nine forwards.
The squad features several players representing clubs in the Maltese Premier League, alongside three England-based players: Kai Bartolo of Amersham Town, Alfie Bridgman of Moneyfields and Joshua Pitts of Ipswich Town.
