Maltese FIFA referee Ishmael Barbara has been appointed to officiate Saturday’s UEFA Nations League encounter between the Faroe Islands and Kazakhstan.

The Group C3 fixture will be played at the Tórsvøllur Stadium in Tórshavn on September 26, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm CEST.

Barbara will lead a Maltese officiating team comprising FIFA assistant referees Luke Portelli and James Muscat, while Slobodan Petrovic will serve as fourth official.

The match will also feature Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, with Polish officials Pawel Malec and Bartosz Frankowski appointed as VAR and Assistant VAR respectively.
