Malta will be among the nations participating in the 2026 WPA Blackball World Championships, which will be held at the Thistle Hotel Heathrow in England between 20 and 28 October 2026. The announcement was made by the World Pool Association, which welcomed Malta as one of the confirmed countries for this prestigious event.

The Maltese team will compete in three different categories: Men’s A, Men’s B and Under-23. In order to select the players who will represent Malta, a series of ranking tournaments will be organised, starting on 22 June. The final day for players to register and take part in these tournaments is Friday, 19 June.

In the Men’s A category, five ranking tournaments will be held, with the winners earning places in the team. They will be joined by the Malta Champion and one player selected by the coach through a wildcard.

In Men’s B, the five players with the highest points tally after the five ranking tournaments will qualify for the team. In the Under-23 category, three tournaments will be organised, with their winners and the top-ranked player on the points list securing places at the World Championships, where Malta will aim to leave its mark on the international stage.
