The South Americans opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Vinicius Jr. fired a shot that Haiti goalkeeper Johnny Placide could not hold. Matheus Cunha capitalized on the rebound, tapping the ball in from close range. Thirteen minutes later, the same combination extended Brazil’s lead. After Brazil snatched possession in midfield, Vinicius Jr. played a through ball to Cunha, who struck his second goal of the night into the top corner.

Vinicius Jr. turned goalscorer in first-half stoppage time, controlling a pass from Lucas Paqueta and sliding the ball under the onrushing Placide to make it 3-0 before the interval.

Brazil managed the tempo in the second half while continuing to create chances. Substitute Gabriel Martinelli saw an effort strike the crossbar, and Endrick had a goal disallowed by the assistant referee’s flag. Haiti continued to push for their first goal of the tournament but could not find a way past Brazil goalkeeper Alisson.

The defeat confirms that Haiti’s first appearance at the FIFA World Cup™ since 1974 will conclude after their final group match against Morocco on June 24. On the same day, Brazil will face Scotland in Miami to decide the final standings of Group C.
