Late Canadian Siege Falls Short

Refusing to go down without a fight, Canada rallied with the same spirit that has helped them make history this tournament. In the 74th minute, substitute Promise David was introduced to the pitch and made an immediate impact, stabbing home a volley with his very first touch just two minutes after taking the field.

David’s goal triggered a relentless, late siege on the Swiss goal. Canada came agonizingly close to snatching a dramatic equalizer, but Kobel produced a vital save from a dangerous David header to secure all three points for Switzerland.

Group B Final Standings

Following the conclusion of the matches, Switzerland tops Group B with 7 points, followed closely by Canada on 4 points. Bosnia and Herzegovina finishes third, while Qatar bows out at the bottom of the group.
