Andre Cassar emerged victorious in the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) Skeet Competition 50+50+25 (2-2026), held on Sunday at the Malta National Shooting Ranges in Siġġiewi.

Cassar produced a consistent performance throughout the competition to finish with an overall score of 116 out of 125, securing first place ahead of a competitive field.

The battle for the remaining podium places proved to be a close one, with Liam Sciberras and Clive Farrugia both finishing on 113/125. Sciberras claimed second place, while Farrugia completed the podium in third.

Strong Opening Round

Following the opening 50 targets, Cassar had already established himself at the top of the standings in Class A after posting an impressive 47/50.

Farrugia followed with 46/50, while Sciberras remained within striking distance on 45/50, setting up an exciting contest over the remaining rounds.

Class B Results

In the Class B competition, Mikaela Galea finished in first place after recording 41/50 over the opening 50 targets.

Joseph Muscat secured second place with 40/50, while Jamie Buttigieg rounded off the top three with a score of 35/50.

Next Competition

The MSSF skeet calendar continues later this month with the MSSF Skeet Competition 50+50+25 (3-2026), which is scheduled to take place on 19 July at the Malta National Shooting Ranges in Siġġiewi.

The event is expected to attract another strong field of shooters as competitors continue their pursuit of honours during the 2026 domestic shooting season.
