Real Madrid Complete Signing of Denzel Dumfries from Inter
Real Madrid officially confirmed the signing of Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on Sunday, with the experienced right-back becoming the club’s latest addition ahead of the new season.
Dumfries arrives in Madrid after spending five seasons with Inter, where he established himself as a key member of the Italian side. The 30-year-old also represented the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Before his successful spell in Italy, Dumfries played for Sparta Rotterdam, Heerenveen and PSV Eindhoven. He has now joined Real Madrid under head coach Jose Mourinho, signing a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030.
Real Madrid will pay €20 million to secure Dumfries’ services, triggering the release clause included in the defender’s contract after he signed a new deal with Inter Milan in 2024 that was due to run until 2028.
The Dutch international becomes the third defensive addition to Jose Mourinho’s squad this summer, following the arrivals of centre-back Ibrahima Konate and left-back Marc Cucurella. Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva has also joined the Spanish giants, capping an active transfer window as Real Madrid continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
