United States: Balogun’s Boost

Mauricio Pochettino’s side earned their spot in the knockout stages by topping Group D before grinding out a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32. The Stars and Stripes achieved that win despite playing much of the second half with ten men after star forward Folarin Balogun opened the scoring but was sent off in the 64th minute.

In a massive boost for the host nation, Balogun’s suspension has been overturned. He is cleared to lead the line as the USA chases its first World Cup quarter-final appearance since 2002.
