Former Feyenoord boss Marino Pusic appointed Al Ahli coach

Al Ahli appoint Marino Pusic as new head coach to replace Matthias Jaissle
Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli have confirmed the appointment of Marino Pusic as their new head coach following the departure of Matthias Jaissle, who has taken over at Newcastle United.
The reigning AFC Champions League Elite winners announced the Bosnian-born coach’s arrival on Thursday, with Pusic signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.
The 54-year-old arrives after a successful coaching career that includes leading Shakhtar Donetsk to the Ukrainian Premier League title in 2024.
Pusic also gained experience in the Gulf region during the 2025/26 season, when he took charge of UAE club Al Jazira.
Earlier in his coaching career, he helped FC Twente secure promotion to the Eredivisie in 2019 before serving as assistant coach at Feyenoord, where he played a key role in the club’s Dutch league triumph in 2023.
Pusic replaces Matthias Jaissle, who enjoyed a highly successful spell with Al Ahli, guiding the club to back-to-back AFC Champions League Elite titles.
The German coach has since been appointed as the new manager of Newcastle United, succeeding Eddie Howe ahead of the new Premier League season
