Vinicius Jr Signs six-year Real Madrid extension, ending Arsenal transfer speculation

Vinicius Jr signs new six-year Real Madrid deal to end Arsenal transfer speculation
Real Madrid have officially ended speculation surrounding Vinicius Jr’s future after confirming the Brazilian forward has signed a new six-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2032.
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of Real Madrid’s most influential players in recent seasons and had been heavily linked with a potential move to Arsenal during the summer transfer window. His previous deal was due to expire in 2027, prompting widespread reports over his long-term future.
In an official statement, Real Madrid confirmed the agreement, saying the club and Vinicius Jr had reached terms on a contract extension that secures his future in the Spanish capital through June 30, 2032.
The club also praised the Brazilian winger for his contribution to one of the most successful eras in the club’s history, highlighting his importance since arriving from Flamengo in 2018.
Since making the move from Brazil, Vinicius Jr has scored 128 goals and provided 100 assists in all competitions, developing into one of Europe’s elite attacking players and playing a key role in the club’s domestic and European success.
Reports from Spain and England suggested contract negotiations had been ongoing for several months, while Arsenal were believed to be monitoring the situation in the hope of launching an ambitious move. However, the new agreement brings an end to those rumours and ensures Real Madrid retain one of their biggest stars for the foreseeable future.
The contract extension also removes any possibility of the Spanish giants losing the Brazilian on a free transfer in the coming years.
During his time in Madrid, Vinicius Jr has helped the club win two Champions League titles, three LaLiga championships and several other major honours, cementing his place among the club’s modern greats.
The Brazilian is now preparing for a new chapter under Jose Mourinho, who returned to Real Madrid for a second spell as manager earlier this summer. Mourinho takes charge following a disappointing campaign in which Los Blancos finished behind Barcelona in the LaLiga title race, exited the Champions League at the quarter-final stage and failed to win a major trophy.
Securing Vinicius Jr’s long-term future is another significant piece of business in what has already been a busy transfer window for Real Madrid.
The club have strengthened Mourinho’s squad with the arrivals of Yan Diomande, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella, and Denzel Dumfries as they look to reclaim both the LaLiga title and Champions League crown next season.
