All Blacks welcome back eight players for Nations Championship as captain savea misses out

The New Zealand All Blacks will be without injured captain Ardie Savea for their upcoming Nations Championship fixtures in November, but the squad has received a major boost with the return of eight players who have been recovering from various injuries.

Loose forward Savea suffered a shoulder injury during New Zealand’s gruelling series defeat to South Africa. Fly-half Ruben Love is also among nine players ruled out through injury, leaving the coaching staff with several key absentees ahead of the upcoming international tests.

Meanwhile, uncapped prop Saula Ma’u and first five-eighth Josh Jacomb have earned call-ups, giving them an opportunity to make their mark on the international stage.

Eight Players Return to Boost All Blacks Squad

The All Blacks have welcomed back Jordie Barrett, Richie Mo’unga, Anton Lienert-Brown, Quinn Tupaea, Ethan Blackadder, Anton Segner, Asafo Aumua, and Fehi Fineanganofo, all of whom return after recovering from various injuries.

Loose forwards Leicester Fainga’anuku and Christian Lio-Willie have also been recalled by head coach Dave Rennie, strengthening New Zealand’s options heading into a demanding run of fixtures.

Rennie expressed his satisfaction with the squad selection, highlighting the strength of the group and welcoming several players back into the setup.

“This is a really strong squad we have selected. It’s great to officially welcome George, Saula, Leicester, Christian, Jamie and Chay back into the squad. They have all shown fantastic form,” Rennie said.

All Blacks Prepare for Tough November Schedule

New Zealand currently sit at the top of the Southern Hemisphere pool and will face Scotland, Wales, and England on consecutive weekends, beginning on November 7, as they complete their Nations Championship fixtures.

With several experienced players returning and new faces entering the squad, the All Blacks will look to maintain their strong standing despite the absence of their injured captain.
