Ajax secure Tolu Arokodare on season-Long loan from Wolves

Ajax complete loan signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolves
Ajax have confirmed the signing of Tolu Arokodare on a season-long loan from Wolves, with the agreement including an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
The 25-year-old Nigeria international arrives in Amsterdam looking to bolster Ajax’s attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
A Forward on the Rise
Arokodare has built an impressive career across Europe, featuring in Latvia, Germany, and Belgium before earning his move to the Premier League.
The striker enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign with Racing Genk, finishing as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer and attracting interest from several clubs before completing his transfer to Wolves.
Although opportunities were limited during his first season in England, Arokodare still managed to score six goals across all competitions, despite often being used as an impact substitute as Wolves endured a difficult campaign that ended in relegation from the Premier League.
Fresh Challenge in Amsterdam
Ajax will now hope the powerful forward can rediscover the goalscoring form that made him one of Belgium’s most prolific strikers.
The Dutch giants have already begun their European campaign and will be back in action on Thursday when they host Vojvodina in the second leg of their UEFA Conference League second qualifying round tie.
Ajax head into the match with a commanding 4-1 aggregate advantage after an impressive first-leg victory in Serbia, putting them in a strong position to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Arokodare’s arrival provides further competition in attack as Ajax continue to strengthen their squad ahead of what promises to be a demanding domestic and European season.
