Arsenal Complete Signing of Georgia Stanway on Four-Year Contract
Georgia Stanway has joined Arsenal on a free transfer following the conclusion of her four-year spell with Bayern Munich, the Women’s Super League club announced on Friday.
The England midfielder returns to the WSL after enjoying a trophy-laden period in Germany, where she helped Bayern win four Bundesliga titles, two German Cups and two German Super Cups. She also contributed 32 goals in 128 appearances for the club.
Stanway moved to Bayern in 2022 after spending seven seasons at Manchester City. During her time with the Manchester club, the 27-year-old made 186 appearances, scored 67 goals and lifted one Women’s Super League title, three FA Cups and three League Cups.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal,” Stanway said in a club statement.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining a club of Arsenal’s stature,” Stanway said. “The club continues to raise the standard of the women’s game, and I’m thrilled to be part of that journey.”
Arsenal ended last season as Women’s Super League runners-up, finishing four points behind champions Manchester City.
