Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo was involved in a physical altercation with former teammate Tyler Herro in Las Vegas on Friday, according to several U.S. media reports.

The Heat acknowledged they were aware of the incident but declined to provide further comment. ESPN reported that the confrontation took place on a practice court inside a Las Vegas hotel.

According to multiple sources cited by The Athletic, the two players exchanged words before the situation escalated. The report claims Adebayo walked toward Herro and punched him during the confrontation.

Reports indicate the disagreement may have been fueled by remarks Herro made on social media after his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the blockbuster deal that brought Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami in June.

Following the trade, Herro reportedly questioned Adebayo’s offensive game while commenting on the maximum contract extension the Heat center signed with the franchise.

Earlier on Friday, before reports of the altercation emerged, Tyler Herro spoke positively about his time with the Miami Heat and his former teammates during a Prime broadcast of the NBA Summer League matchup between the Heat and Bucks.

“It’s all love in Miami,” Herro said. “I’ve seen a couple of the guys, coaching staff… we are all good in Miami.”

Later, as he was leaving the arena, Herro was approached by reporters and asked about the reported incident involving Bam Adebayo.

“My only comment is ‘no comment,'” Herro replied, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
