Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany was reportedly taken to hospital after feeling unwell during a training session on Friday, according to several German media outlets.
The Belgian coach, who had been recovering from a viral illness in recent days, was overseeing his team’s training before his condition deteriorated and he was taken to hospital.
Bayern, who currently lead the Bundesliga standings, are preparing for their next league fixture after drawing 2-2 at home against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week.
The German champions are scheduled to travel to face Freiburg on Sunday, although Kompany’s condition could raise questions about his involvement ahead of the match.
Reuters said it had contacted Bayern Munich for comment regarding the reported incident.
