Fallon Sherrock claims £501,000 prize after winning controversial ‘Beat Luke Littler’ event

Fallon Sherrock stuns Luke Littler to win £501,000 in controversial Netflix Darts event
Fallon Sherrock produced a memorable performance on Friday evening to defeat reigning darts world champion Luke Littler and claim the £501,000 jackpot at Netflix’s controversial ‘Beat Luke Littler’ event.
The unique competition brought together 24 contestants, including amateur players, rising talents and established names from the darts world, all hoping to secure a life-changing prize by winning a single leg against the two-time world champion.
With £501,000 on offer, the event promised one of the biggest individual prizes in darts history outside the PDC World Darts Championship.
However, the format attracted considerable criticism, with questions raised over the number of participants who already had experience competing in organised darts tournaments.
Netflix Event Faces Criticism Over Contestant Selection
The Netflix production had been promoted for months as an opportunity for 24 amateurs to take on Littler in a high-stakes challenge.
However, more than half of the contestants were already active in the darts world, leading to criticism that the event did not entirely deliver on its original promise.
Netflix defended its selection process, insisting that every participant had been assessed under the same conditions.
“The registration and audition process was exactly the same for everyone. The 24 participants were all selected on the basis of the preliminary rounds,” a Netflix spokesperson explained.
Despite the controversy surrounding the format, the competition delivered plenty of memorable moments as contestants attempted to overcome one of the sport’s biggest stars.
Fallon Sherrock Becomes Littler’s Biggest Challenge
Among those taking part was 14-year-old Jayden Walker, who had already made history by becoming the youngest player to win a WDF senior event after claiming the England International Open.
However, Walker discovered just how difficult the challenge would be when Littler produced an impressive 158 checkout while the youngster still had 301 remaining.
As the evening progressed, the world champion began showing occasional signs of vulnerability.
Ireland’s Pearse Mackle eventually became the first contestant to earn a shot at a double after seven unsuccessful attempts, although his effort at the bullseye missed its target.
Attention then turned to German contestant Jarod Becker, who faced a public vote against Sherrock.
The Englishwoman, famously known as the ‘Queen of the Palace’, secured a convincing 75 per cent of the vote compared to Becker’s 25 per cent, earning the opportunity to become Littler’s 15th opponent of the evening.
Sherrock Delivers Stunning Victory Over ‘The Nuke’
Sherrock made the most of her opportunity, producing a composed performance to defeat Luke Littler with a 43 checkout.
The victory came while Littler was still sitting on 142, leaving the world champion unable to respond as the Englishwoman secured the winning leg.
The result handed Sherrock the entire £501,000 prize pot, marking one of the biggest achievements of her darts career.
Following her victory, the ‘Queen of the Palace’ struggled to put her emotions into words as she reflected on the life-changing moment.
“It’s insane. Honestly, I can’t fit into words how much this means, and especially having Rory (her son), the first time he’s ever been to anything, and he’s seen me win,” Sherrock told Netflix.
“It’s a great moment, and I’ll remember this forever. I’m like, give me an opportunity and I’ll take it like every time. I don’t know what it is but I’m really proud of myself right now.”
For Sherrock, the victory represents a remarkable moment in her career, as she walked away with £501,000 after taking full advantage of her opportunity against one of the biggest names in modern darts.
