Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane remains confident that he can agree a new contract with the Bundesliga champions, despite entering the final year of his current deal.

The England captain is among the contenders for the 2027 Ballon d’Or after another outstanding campaign with Vincent Kompany’s side.

Kane scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season, one of the highest tallies ever recorded in a single German top-flight campaign. He also helped Bayern secure a domestic league and cup double.

The striker found the net 61 times in all competitions, setting a new personal best, before helping England reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-finals in July.

His attention has now returned to club football after starting the new campaign with victory over Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. With his contract entering its final year, Kane has been linked with a possible return to the Premier League, but the forward appears determined to remain in Germany as he continues his pursuit of the UEFA Champions League.

“We’ll talk this week and next. We’ll just have an open discussion. We’re not in a hurry or panicking,” Kane said.

“My full focus is on Bayern Munich and the upcoming season. The talks will happen behind the scenes.”
