Hull Land Greece International Tzolakis in Club-Record Transfer

Hull City have completed the signing of Greece international goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis from Olympiacos, with the 23-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year contract in what is understood to be a club-record transfer.
While the Premier League newcomers did not reveal the financial details of the deal, reports in the British media suggest the transfer is worth around £20 million (€23 million/$27 million), with additional performance-related bonuses. The fee surpasses Hull City’s previous transfer record of £13 million, which was paid to sign Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur in 2016.
Tzolakis arrives after enjoying a highly successful spell with Olympiacos, where he helped the Greek giants win four Super League Greece titles. He was also a member of the squad that lifted the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy during the 2023-24 season.
The goalkeeper has earned nine senior caps for Greece and was recognised as the Super League Greece Player of the Season for the 2024-25 campaign following a string of outstanding performances.
Speaking after completing the move, Tzolakis expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter in England.
“I’m ready for this new stage of my career,” he said. “Joining Hull City is a fantastic opportunity because it gives me the chance to compete in the Premier League. Playing against some of the best footballers in the world is a challenge I’m looking forward to, and I feel fully prepared for it.”
Hull City secured their return to the Premier League after defeating Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final, earning promotion to England’s top flight.
The Tigers will kick off their Premier League campaign with a challenging home fixture against Manchester United on August 22 as they prepare for life back among the elite.
