Korpatsch claims second WTA title with Hamburg home Triumph
Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch secured the second WTA title of her career on Sunday after defeating Anna Bondar in straight sets in the final of the Hamburg Open.
Playing in front of her home crowd, the 31-year-old delivered a composed performance to overcome her Hungarian opponent 6-3, 6-3, adding another trophy to her collection after previously winning her maiden WTA title in Romania three years ago.
Korpatsch’s victory marked a special moment at her hometown tournament, as she became the latest player to capture a title on home soil in front of a supportive crowd.
Meanwhile, Bondar was left waiting for her first career WTA singles title after suffering defeat in the Hamburg final for the second consecutive year. The 29-year-old had previously finished runner-up at the event in 2025, when she was beaten by Lois Boisson.
Despite another near miss, Bondar continues to establish herself as a consistent presence on the WTA Tour, while Korpatsch’s latest triumph adds another milestone to her professional career.
