Liverpool Announce Victor Muñoz Signing After Dramatic Transfer Twist

Liverpool have officially announced the signing of Spanish winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna after making a late move to beat Newcastle to his signature.
The 22-year-old appeared destined for a switch to St James’ Park after reports claimed Newcastle had reached an agreement with Osasuna over a €30 million transfer.
However, Liverpool stepped in at the final stage, triggering Muñoz’s €40 million release clause and securing the player’s services, leaving Newcastle disappointed once again.
The deal has now been confirmed, with the transfer pending a successful work permit application and international clearance.
Muñoz enjoyed a breakthrough season at Osasuna after joining the club from Real Madrid last summer. The winger impressed with his performances, scoring seven goals and providing five assists across 36 appearances.
The 22-year-old also made a memorable start to his international career, scoring on his Spain debut against Serbia in March. He is now part of the Spanish squad preparing for the 2026 World Cup.
