Manchester United are increasingly considering Manu Kone as a potential midfield addition as the club reassesses its transfer priorities ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid have reaffirmed Aurelien Tchouameni’s importance to the squad, with the French international expected to sign a new long-term contract. Meanwhile, Bournemouth remain firm in their stance over Alex Scott and are reluctant to negotiate a transfer, making a deal increasingly difficult.

With those options fading, Manu Kone has moved into contention as United continue refining their midfield recruitment strategy.

Kone, 25, has emerged as an attractive midfield option for Manchester United, with Roma reportedly open to offers below the £50 million mark. That price tag aligns with United’s strategy of targeting players who offer strong value in the transfer market.

Although the French midfielder was not among the club’s primary targets at the start of the window, he has been monitored by United’s recruitment team for an extended period.

A full France international, Kone brings the experience, versatility, and technical quality the club believe can strengthen their midfield options.

With Michael Carrick preparing the squad for a return to European competition, United are determined to add sufficient depth in central midfield and avoid being left short of quality throughout the campaign.

The club’s recruitment plans extend beyond midfield as well. United are keen to add at least one player on the left flank, remain open to signing a centre-back, and could also enter the market for another forward should a suitable opportunity become available.
