Only eight players remain in the men’s and women’s singles draws at the 2026 US Open, with the quarter-finals getting underway on Tuesday as Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka headline a packed day of action.

18:30 CET – Sabalenka takes a thrilling first set

Aryna Sabalenka looked firmly in control after racing into a 5-2 lead against Linda Noskova, but the Wimbledon champion responded brilliantly, winning three consecutive games to force a tiebreak.

Sabalenka, however, regained her composure when it mattered most. The world number one dominated the breaker, winning it 7-1 to take the opening set after 48 minutes.

The singles draws have been reduced to their final eight players, and the quarter-finals begin today on both the men’s and women’s sides, with the remaining matches scheduled for Wednesday.

We start with a blockbuster women’s clash on Arthur Ashe Stadium, where defending champion and top seed Aryna Sabalenka faces Linda Noskova, the reigning Wimbledon champion.

That will be followed by an all-American men’s quarter-final between Frances Tiafoe and Alex Michelsen.

Later, Jessica Pegula takes on fellow American Emma Navarro in another highly anticipated quarter-final, with the match scheduled to begin after midnight CET.

The day’s action will conclude with arguably the biggest clash of the schedule, as defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz faces the in-form Ben Shelton in a blockbuster encounter.
