Spurs Announce Signing of Martin Dúbravka in Busy Start to Transfer Window
Martin Dúbravka has become Tottenham Hotspur’s fourth signing of a busy summer, with the deal expected to increase the likelihood of Guglielmo Vicario leaving the club.
The experienced goalkeeper, who previously played for Newcastle United and Manchester United, joins Spurs on a free transfer after departing Burnley at the end of last season.
Dúbravka expressed his excitement about the move, saying: “Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started.”
Antonín Kinský replaced Guglielmo Vicario as Tottenham Hotspur’s first-choice goalkeeper towards the end of the season under Roberto De Zerbi, as Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
Reports suggest that Kinský is set to retain his starting role, with Vicario expected to return to Italy in the near future.
Martin Dúbravka has now joined Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke as part of De Zerbi’s squad rebuild at Spurs.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi commented on the signing, saying:
“I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality. He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room.”
