Neptunes WPSC have officially been crowned the Swimming Long Course Champions for the 2025/26 season following four days of spectacular, high-octane action at the Cottonera Indoor Pool.

The National Championships saw Malta’s finest aquatic talent battle it out in the water, culminating in a staggering total of 294 medals awarded to competitors across all age brackets. Ultimately, it was Neptunes’ depth, consistency, and elite performances that propelled them to the top of the standings to claim the prestigious championship crown.

Record-Breaking Brilliance in the Pool

While the team trophy went to Neptunes, the event was also highlighted by exceptional individual achievements that rewrote the Maltese swimming history books. Two rising stars stole the headlines by shattering National Age Group Records:

• Madeleine Cassar: Put on an absolute masterclass in stamina and technique, setting a new Age Group D record in the 200m Butterfly with a phenomenal time of 2:25.50.
• Martina Galea: Showcased blistering speed and power, clocking an incredible 29.60 seconds to break the Age Group C record in the 50m Butterfly.
