Ansu Fati Completes Permanent Move from Barcelona to AS Monaco
Barcelona have confirmed the permanent transfer of Ansu Fati to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco following the completion of his loan spell with the Principality club.
Unlike Wout Faes and Simon Adingra, who have moved on, Fati will remain at Monaco after the club exercised its option to buy the Spanish international.
The deal is reported to be worth €11 million, with the 22-year-old forward signing a four-year contract to continue his career in France.
After seeing his progress disrupted by a series of injuries, Fati gradually slipped out of Barcelona’s plans before reviving his career during his loan spell in Ligue 1.
The Spanish forward impressed with 11 league goals in 25 appearances and finished the campaign with 12 goals in 30 matches across all competitions. His performances even sparked speculation about a return to the Spain national team, although he was ultimately not recalled.
Barcelona will also benefit financially from the transfer, offloading Fati’s reported annual salary of €6 million while retaining a sell-on clause for any future transfer. The club, however, did not disclose the percentage in its official announcement.
