Chelsea have completed the signing of Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, with the highly rated teenager committing his future to the Premier League club until 2034.

The 19-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge after a breakthrough campaign with Sporting, where he played a key role in the club’s successful season. Quenda helped the Lisbon side secure a domestic double, lifting both the Portuguese league title and the Portuguese Cup.

Speaking after completing his move, Quenda expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea and continuing his development at the club.

Quenda enjoyed a breakthrough 2025 campaign, earning the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season award after establishing himself as one of Sporting CP’s brightest young talents.

During his two years with the Lisbon club, the winger made 86 appearances across all competitions, setting several records along the way. He became Sporting’s youngest-ever goalscorer and also the youngest Portuguese player to find the net in the UEFA Champions League.

On the international stage, Quenda has represented Portugal at Under-21 level and was named in the Team of the Tournament at the 2025 European Under-21 Championship.

Chelsea will now turn their attention towards the new Premier League season, with their opening fixture scheduled away against Fulham on August 24.
