San Giljan MAA Daikin and Neptunes Best Gyms Malta both produced dominant displays as Match Day 10 of the BOV Summer League Premier Division continued at the National Pool Complex on Saturday evening.

San Giljan returned to winning ways with an emphatic 27-15 victory over Exiles Welbees, while Neptunes maintained their strong form by brushing aside Valletta Peak Insurance Brokers 23-12.

San Giljan too strong for Exiles

San Giljan bounced back impressively from their previous defeat, taking control against Exiles from the opening quarter and never looking back.

The St Julians side established a 6-4 lead after the first session before extending their advantage to 12-7 by half-time. They produced their most decisive spell in the third quarter, outscoring Exiles 8-4 to open up a commanding 20-11 lead before completing a comprehensive 27-15 victory.

Jerko Marinic-Kragic and Nikolai Zammit led the way for San Giljan with five goals each. Jake Muscat Melito and Darren Zammit added four apiece, while Alec Fenech contributed three in a well-balanced attacking performance.

Konstantin Averka was Exiles’ main threat with five goals, while Keith Tanti added three in an otherwise difficult evening for his side.

Quarter scores: 6-4, 6-3, 8-4, 7-4.

Neptunes overpower Valletta

Neptunes Best Gyms Malta also enjoyed a comfortable evening, defeating Valletta Peak Insurance Brokers 23-12 in another one-sided contest.

Neptunes built their victory on a strong first half, taking a 5-2 lead after the opening quarter before edging the second session 3-2 to go into the interval 8-4 ahead.

The home side then produced a devastating third quarter, scoring eight goals while conceding only two to stretch their advantage to 16-6. Although Valletta showed some resistance in the final period, Neptunes remained firmly in control and closed out an impressive 23-12 win.

Stevie Camilleri was the standout performer for Neptunes with six goals, while Sam Gialanze added four and Jake Bajada contributed three. Pablo Chmyr led Valletta’s scoring with seven goals, but his efforts were not enough to prevent defeat.
