The Malta Football Association has officially conducted the draws for the upcoming Assikura Women’s Youth League and the BOV Youth Leagues, mapping out an action-packed 2026/27 campaign for the island’s top young footballing talent.

Assikura Women’s Youth League: New Format Announced

The Assikura Women’s Youth League will mirror the elite senior tier this season, featuring a competitive lineup of six teams.

To maximize playing time and development, the league is introducing a dense, four-round format. Every team will face each other four times throughout the season, guaranteeing a total of 20 matches per club by the end of the campaign.

• Opening Matchday: September 15–16, 2026

BOV Youth Leagues: Staggered Kick-Off Across Four Divisions

The draws were also finalized for all four divisions of the highly anticipated BOV Youth Leagues. The upcoming season will feature a staggered rollout across the late summer and autumn months:

• BOV Youth League A: August 31, 2026
• BOV Youth League B: September 1, 2026
• BOV Youth League C: October 7, 2026
• BOV Youth League D: October 8, 2026

The multi-tier structure ensures that Malta’s rising stars can compete in balanced, high-stakes environments suited to their developmental levels.
