This world-class finish serves as the perfect conclusion to a breakthrough year. Throughout his first international season, Bonnici Peresso has demonstrated immense potential and relentless development:

• Consistent Evolution: From event to event, he continuously refined his technique, elevated his routine difficulty, and delivered increasingly polished performances.
• High-Pressure Composure: Supporters and coaches highlighted his incredible ability to quickly adapt and stay composed under intense global pressure.
• Maltese History Maker: Earlier in his development, he officially became the first male swimmer in Malta to rank first in Youth Figures at an Aquatic Sports Association (ASA) event.

Elite Coaching and Support

Bonnici Peresso’s meteoric rise onto the world stage has been heavily guided by a world-class coaching staff. Head Coach Michelle Hubner and Assistant Coach Hannah Preca Trapani played instrumental roles in preparing and developing the young athlete for this high-level competition.

The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA) extended massive congratulations to Jude, praising his unparalleled dedication, while offering immense gratitude to his coaches, support system, and financial benefactors who made this historic journey possible.

A Historic Summer for Maltese Aquatics

Bonnici Peresso’s performance brings the curtain down on a historic 2026 international season for Team Malta. His achievement perfectly complements teammate Zea Montfort, who also rewrote Maltese history at the exact same championships with a spectacular 6th-place global finish in the Women’s Solo Free Final.

With unprecedented top-10 world breakthroughs across the board, the future looks exceptionally bright for Malta’s growing national aquatics program.
