Copenhagen bring in familiar Borussia Dortmund face after goalkeeper injury

FC Copenhagen bring back Diant Ramaj on loan from Borussia Dortmund
FC Copenhagen, Borussia Dortmund and Diant Ramaj have reached an agreement over a loan move for the 2026/27 season, with the deal also including an option for the Danish club to make the goalkeeper’s transfer permanent.
Ramaj is no stranger to FC Copenhagen, having spent the second half of the 2024/25 season with the club. During that spell, the goalkeeper kept 10 clean sheets in 19 appearances and played an important role as Copenhagen secured a domestic league and cup double.
The club have now decided to bring the German goalkeeper back following an injury suffered by Dominik Kotarski, providing additional experience and competition between the posts.
FC Copenhagen’s Director of Football, Kristjaan Speakman, expressed his delight at bringing Ramaj back to the club.
“We know Diant very well and are delighted to welcome him back to Copenhagen,” Speakman said.
He also highlighted the goalkeeper’s mentality and development since his previous spell in Denmark.
For Ramaj, the move represents a welcome return to a club and city he knows well after leaving Copenhagen just over a year ago to return to Germany.
The goalkeeper is now looking forward to pulling on the FC Copenhagen shirt once again and returning to the atmosphere at Parken.
“I am really happy that the agreement is in place, and I look forward to joining the lads again,” Ramaj said.
Ramaj also believes his mentality is a perfect match for the club.
Reflecting on his previous spell, the goalkeeper added that his focus is now firmly on helping Copenhagen achieve more success.
With an option to buy included in the agreement, Ramaj now has the opportunity to turn his temporary return to FC Copenhagen into a permanent move if the club decide to exercise the clause at the end of the season.
