Savinho completes Tottenham move from Manchester City in record sale

Tottenham have completed the signing of Manchester City winger Savinho in a deal reportedly worth £75 million plus add-ons, making the Brazilian the most expensive player sold in Manchester City’s history.

Savinho becomes the latest arrival in a major summer rebuild at Tottenham, with the Brazilian winger becoming the club’s seventh signing of the transfer window.

He follows Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Martin Dubravka, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in moving to North London.

“It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here,” Savinho said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

“As soon as I spoke to the head coach, I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.”

The Brazilian endured a difficult spell for regular playing time at Manchester City, making 24 Premier League appearances last season, with most of those outings coming from the bench.

Savinho will now look to establish himself as a key figure in Tottenham’s attack as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the new campaign.

His former City teammate Omar Marmoush is also reportedly set to follow him to North London, with Tottenham continuing to add attacking reinforcements for Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.

The move also marks a return to a familiar name for the Brazilian. Rather than Savinho, the winger will once again go by Savio, the name he used before joining Manchester City in 2024.
