Ħamrun Spartans will be looking to build on their first league victory of the season when they face Birżebbuġa.

The Spartans finally opened their account with a 2–1 victory over Żabbar, although the scoreline did not fully reflect their dominance, with Marco Amelia’s side controlling the match from start to finish.

Motivated by that positive result, Ħamrun will go into the encounter as clear favourites to claim another three points as they look to secure a place among the top six. However, they will need to be more clinical in front of goal after failing to make the most of several opportunities in their previous match.

At the same time, Ħamrun will have to remain alert to the threat posed by Birżebbuġa on the counter-attack, particularly when committing players forward.

Birżebbuġa, meanwhile, have made a change in the dugout and will be hoping for a reaction as they continue their search for their first points of the season after four matches.

The newly promoted side will be determined to make life difficult for Ħamrun and produce a much-needed positive result, while the Spartans will be aiming to maintain their momentum and move closer to their objective of finishing among the top six.
