Real Madrid defender Éder Militão has become the latest high-profile footballer to be targeted by burglars in Spain, with thieves reportedly stealing jewellery and watches worth €350,000 from his home during Sunday’s El Clásico victory over Barcelona.

According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo, the Brazilian’s property was broken into while Real Madrid were securing a 2-1 win over their rivals.

Militão was among the substitutes for the match when intruders reportedly gained access to his home through a third-floor bathroom window before searching his bedroom. Bags, luxury watches and jewellery were among the items stolen.

The defender’s family were inside the property on the ground floor, watching the El Clásico on television, but reportedly did not notice anything unusual during the burglary.

The incident is the latest in a growing series of robberies involving prominent footballers in Spain in recent years.

Former Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was attacked during an armed robbery at his home in 2022, suffering a broken jaw.

More recently, Real Betis striker Troy Parrott and former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico were also reportedly targeted in separate robberies this month.
