Argentina forward Julián Álvarez has revealed that he wants to leave Atlético Madrid in order to “fulfil his dream,” amid reported interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking after Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Austria in their World Cup Group J match on Monday, Álvarez said he had already discussed the situation with the club and believes a transfer would be the best outcome for all parties.

“I spoke with people at the club, with those I had to speak with, and the best thing for everyone is a transfer and I want to fulfil my dream,” Álvarez said. “It’s not the time to talk about this, but I also can’t hide it. I try to be an honest person.”

Reports suggest that Atlético Madrid recently rejected a €150 million offer from Real Madrid for the 26-year-old striker. Spanish and Argentine media have also linked him with potential moves to Barcelona and PSG.

Álvarez, who joined the LaLiga side from Manchester City in 2024 for a reported fee of €95 million, has admitted that his future is still uncertain.

“It’s not known when it will be resolved,” he told reporters at the stadium in Dallas.

The striker has been recovering from an ankle injury and has featured as a substitute in both of Argentina’s World Cup matches so far.
