Aston Villa Confirm Permanent Signing of Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton
Aston Villa have officially completed the signing of Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton on a permanent deal.
The transfer is worth £30 million in total, with Villa paying an initial £25 million and a further £5 million potentially due in add-ons.
The 24-year-old centre-back spent four seasons with Southampton, making 121 appearances for the club. He also scored seven goals in the Championship last season.
Harwood-Bellis arrives at Villa Park as the club strengthen their defence following Ezri Konsa’s move to Arsenal. The England international will now provide another option at the heart of Unai Emery’s backline.
Aston Villa have been looking to strengthen their defence following Ezri Konsa’s summer transfer to Arsenal, with the club hoping to turn around a difficult start to the Premier League season that has left them at the bottom of the table.
