Birżebbuġa St Peter’s accuse Ketan Makwana of failing to honour financial commitments

Birżebbuġa St Peter’s FC have publicly accused Seventy7 Sports and Ketan Makwana of failing to honour financial commitments made to the club under an agreement reached in May 2026.
In an official statement, the Malta Premier League club claimed that Makwana and Seventy7 Sports had fallen significantly short of the financial obligations and conditions established when the agreement was concluded.
The club said it was taking the necessary measures to safeguard its interests and ensure its long-term stability.
“Birżebbuġa St. Peter’s F.C. wishes to formally acknowledge that Seventy7 Sports & Mr Ketan Makwana has, to date, failed to fulfil its financial obligations towards the Club, falling significantly short of the commitments and terms established in the initial agreement reached in May 2026,” the statement read.
The club sought to reassure its players, supporters and other stakeholders that steps were being taken to protect its future.
It stressed that it remained committed to acting responsibly and transparently while safeguarding the interests of everyone associated with the organisation.
However, Birżebbuġa indicated that it would not provide further details about the dispute at this stage, following advice from its legal representatives.
“Upon the advice of its legal counsel, the Club will limit its public comments on this matter to the contents of this statement and will refrain from making any further declarations at this stage,” the statement added.
The club concluded by reaffirming its commitment to its values, community and long-term future.
The statement did not specify the amounts allegedly outstanding or the precise financial commitments that the club claims have not been fulfilled.
No response from Makwana or Seventy7 Sports was included in the club’s statement.
