The Cincinnati Open has reached the fourth-round stage, with a host of major names taking to the court on a packed Wednesday in Ohio.

Defending champion Iga Swiatek, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, and men’s top seed Alexander Zverev were among the headline acts, while several Americans were looking to make the most of home advantage.

Sabalenka stunned by Bejlek

07:24 CET — Aryna Sabalenka is out!

The women’s top seed suffered a stunning defeat against 20-year-old Czech Sara Bejlek, who claimed the biggest victory of her young career with a 7-6(7), 6-4 triumph.

Sabalenka appeared to have control of both sets, leading 5-1 in the first-set tiebreak and 4-1 in the second set. However, Bejlek refused to let the opportunity slip, winning five consecutive games to complete a remarkable comeback.

The result gives Bejlek her first career victory over a top-10 opponent and represents one of the biggest shocks of the tournament.

The defeat could also have major implications at the top of the rankings, with Elena Rybakina now just two wins away from becoming the new women’s world No. 1.

Tiafoe joins American upset party

05:00 CET — Frances Tiafoe has kept the American charge going.

Tiafoe produced an impressive performance to defeat No. 2 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-4 and book his place in the quarter-finals.

Earlier, fellow American Tommy Paul had stunned top seed Alexander Zverev, meaning the United States now has eight players through to the quarter-finals across the men’s and women’s draws.

Tiafoe is enjoying an impressive run against the world’s best, having now won his last four matches against top-10 opponents. The victory also takes him into his second Cincinnati quarter-final and his sixth at a Masters 1000 tournament.

Musetti marches into first Cincinnati quarter-final

04:36 CET — Lorenzo Musetti is through.

The Italian comfortably defeated Jaime Faria 7-5, 6-2 to reach the Cincinnati quarter-finals for the first time.

The victory also marks Musetti’s sixth career Masters 1000 quarter-final.

Fritz books quarter-final spot

04:05 CET — Taylor Fritz has advanced.

The American defeated Christopher O’Connell 6-4, 6-3 to reach his third Cincinnati quarter-final.

The win is also Fritz’s 31st of the 2026 season, while he has reached a Masters 1000 quarter-final for the first time since the 2025 Canadian Open.

Gauff and Keys advance

03:10 CET — Coco Gauff and Madison Keys are both through.

On the women’s side, Coco Gauff defeated Marie Bouzkova 6-3, 6-2, while fellow American Madison Keys beat Xiyu Wang 7-6(3), 6-4.

There was also a hard-fought battle on the men’s side, with Brandon Nakashima overcoming Nuno Borges after two and a half hours.

Nakashima eventually prevailed 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-3 to secure his place in the last eight.

Rybakina sets up Swiatek showdown

00:30 CET — Elena Rybakina is through to the quarter-finals.

The second seed defeated Diana Shnaider 6-4, 6-4 to set up a blockbuster meeting with defending champion Iga Swiatek.

The two stars met recently in Toronto, where Swiatek came out on top. Rybakina will now look to level their overall head-to-head record, with Swiatek holding a 7-6 advantage heading into their latest encounter.

Fils defeats De Minaur

00:28 CET — Arthur Fils has reached his first Cincinnati quarter-final.

The Frenchman produced an impressive display to defeat Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-4.

The result gives Fils his eighth Masters 1000 quarter-final and his fifth at this level in 2026 alone.

Meanwhile, Tommy Paul completed one of the biggest wins of the day by defeating No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-4.

Anisimova knocks out Wimbledon champion

23:37 CET — The Wimbledon champion is out.

Amanda Anisimova defeated Linda Noskova 6-1, 6-4 in a hugely impressive performance.

Noskova showed more resistance in the second set, but Anisimova remained composed after breaking in the seventh game to close out the match.

The American was particularly dominant on serve, not facing a single break point and losing just six points on serve throughout the contest.

Rain interrupts play

22:23 CET — Play has been suspended because of rain in Cincinnati.

Alexander Zverev was leading Tommy Paul 6-4, 3-4 when play was halted, while Amanda Anisimova had taken a 6-1 lead against Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova.

Tirante’s incredible run continues

21:28 CET — Thiago Agustin Tirante is still rolling.

After producing one of the tournament’s biggest shocks by defeating Novak Djokovic, world No. 50 Tirante has now eliminated French Open semi-finalist and No. 14 seed Jakub Mensik.

The Argentine recovered from losing the opening set to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Before 2026, Tirante had never progressed beyond the second round of a Masters 1000 event. He has now reached two fourth rounds and a quarter-final in his last three Masters 1000 tournaments.

Pegula survives Cirstea battle

21:07 CET — Jessica Pegula has survived a major test.

The world No. 3 defeated Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 after more than two hours of intense competition.

Cirstea led 4-3 in the deciding set, but Pegula responded by winning three consecutive games. She then served for the match at 6-5 and converted her fourth match point.

Both players created numerous opportunities on return, with Cirstea earning 10 break points and Pegula creating 14. Both saved half of the break points they faced, but Pegula ultimately edged a closely contested battle.

Kostyuk gets revenge on Andreeva

20:44 CET — Mirra Andreeva is out.

The women’s fifth seed suffered a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 defeat against Marta Kostyuk, who gained revenge for her loss to the teenager in the French Open semi-finals.

Kostyuk recovered brilliantly after dropping the opening set, winning the next two sets comfortably to secure her place in the quarter-finals.

Cobolli reaches maiden hard-court Masters quarter-final

19:52 CET — Flavio Cobolli is through.

The men’s seventh seed battled back from a set down to defeat rising star Rafael Jodar 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-3.

Cobolli survived a tense 61-minute second set before taking control in the decider and completing an impressive comeback.

The victory takes the Italian into his first Masters 1000 quarter-final on hard court.

Cobolli will face either Alexander Zverev or Tommy Paul in the last eight.

Swiatek safely through

18:39 CET — Iga Swiatek has advanced to the quarter-finals.

The defending champion defeated France’s Diane Parry 6-3, 6-3 to continue her title defence in Cincinnati.

Swiatek was not at her absolute best but still converted five of 10 break-point opportunities to secure her ninth consecutive victory following her title run in Toronto last week.

She will next face either Elena Rybakina or Diana Shnaider.
