Jamie Borg has officially announced his departure from Birkirkara FC, bringing an end to his five-year tenure as the club’s Team Manager.

Borg confirmed the news in a poignant farewell statement, describing the decision to part ways with the Premier League club as an incredibly difficult milestone in his career.

“Birkirkara FC has been a major part of my life for the past years, and saying goodbye is extremely difficult and hard,” Borg stated. “Throughout this journey, I gave everything I had for the club. I worked tirelessly, dedicated countless hours, and made significant personal sacrifices because I truly believed in what we were building together.”

A Message of Gratitude

During his half-decade managing the senior team’s operations, Borg oversaw various transitions within the squad. In his parting address, he extended his thanks to the entire Birkirkara infrastructure, including the administration, technical staff, and the fans.

“A special thank you goes to all the coaches, players, technical staff, club volunteers, helpers, committee members, club officials and supporters who have been part of this journey,” Borg said. “Representing and serving this club for the past five years has been a privilege that I will always cherish.”

Leaving with “Head Held High”

Reflecting on the challenges and successes experienced during his time with the Stripes, Borg emphasized that his operational decisions were always made with the club’s long-term interests at the forefront.

“Every chapter has its beginning and its end, and today my chapter with Birkirkara FC comes to a close,” Borg noted. “While this goodbye is painful, I leave with my head held high, knowing I gave everything I could for the badge, the club, and its people.”

Birkirkara FC has yet to release an official statement regarding Borg’s departure or announce a successor for the Team Manager vacancy as they prepare for the upcoming football season.
