Lyon Sign Danish Midfielder Mads Bidstrup from Red Bull Salzburg
After three years at Red Bull Salzburg, former Denmark Under-21 international Mads Bidstrup has moved on to continue his career with Olympique Lyonnais.
According to L’Équipe, the midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club in a deal worth around €10 million.
Bidstrup now begins a new chapter in France after developing into a key player during his time in Austria.
The 25-year-old midfielder joined Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2023 from Premier League side Brentford, quickly establishing himself as a regular starter. His energy, commitment, and fighting spirit also made him a firm favourite among supporters.
During his spell in Austria, Bidstrup made 116 appearances, scoring four goals and providing five assists across all competitions.
He now moves on to Olympique Lyonnais, who finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season and were eliminated in the Europa League Round of 16 by Celta Vigo.
