Malta National Hockey Team set for double header against Italy

The Malta Men’s National Hockey Team, coached by Chris Attard, will travel to Rome to play two friendly matches against Italy. The games will take place on 29 and 30 August.
The majority of Attard’s squad will be made up of the players who represented Malta in Finland during the EuroHockey second-tier competition, with two changes due to player availability. Shamison Mifsud and Luke Bajada will replace Marvin Grixti and Keith Calleja respectively.
Following a five-week break, the Maltese players have resumed training up to four times a week as they prepare for the two matches.
Italy are currently ranked 26th in the world, while Malta are 77th. Despite the difference in rankings, coach Attard will use the matches as an opportunity for his players to gain valuable international experience and continue developing their skills at international level.
