Malta suffer heavy defeat to Turkey at Women’s U18 Water Polo World Championships
Malta suffered a 22-6 defeat to Turkey in their latest match at the World Aquatics Women’s U18 Water Polo Championships 2026.
Despite the final scoreline, Malta found the net on six occasions, with Chloe Amato, Kyra Portelli, Mia Melli, Kaylen Cutajar, Marie Rose Tully and Mia Clarke Spiteri all getting on the scoresheet.
Turkey proved the stronger side throughout the encounter, building a commanding advantage and eventually securing a comprehensive 16-goal victory.
The match formed part of Malta’s ongoing campaign at the World Aquatics Women’s U18 Water Polo Championships, with the Maltese youngsters continuing to gain valuable experience against some of the world’s leading age-group teams.
