Maltese driver Noel Baldacchino produced two impressive performances in Casarano, Italy, to help Malta secure second place in the final standings of the Mediterranean Drivers’ Championship.

Baldacchino enjoyed a highly positive outing in the two races forming part of the championship organised by the Unione Ippica del Mediterraneo – Mediterranean Horseracing Union.

The Maltese representative finished runner-up in the opening race before following that result with another podium finish, taking third place in the second race.

His performances earned valuable points for Malta and ultimately helped the country finish second overall in the championship standings.

Italy emerged as the overall winners of the competition, with Malta securing an excellent second place ahead of Romania, who completed the podium.

Portugal finished fourth in the final classification, followed by France in fifth place and Slovenia in sixth.

Baldacchino’s two podium finishes therefore proved instrumental in another positive international result for Maltese horse racing.
