Tuğberk Tanrıvermiş Appointed Head Coach of Hibernians FC

Hibernians Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Tuğberk Tanrıvermiş as the club’s new Head Coach. The 36-year-old Turkish tactician joins the Paolites with a strong reputation as one of the most promising young coaches in European football, bringing fresh ideas, modern methodology, and valuable international experience to the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
An Elite European Coaching Background
Tanrıvermiş began his coaching journey within some of Europe’s most respected football environments, holding developmental roles within the youth academies of Galatasaray, AS Roma, and Spezia Calcio. He developed his coaching education through the Football Association (England) and the Football Association of Wales, complementing his on-field experience with internationally recognized coaching qualifications.
His exceptional work did not go unnoticed; in 2023, he was named Best Young Coach of the Year at the prestigious Maurizio Maestrelli Awards in Italy, acknowledging his outstanding impact within AS Roma’s academy setup.
Senior Turnaround and Tactical Philosophy
Tanrıvermiş successfully transitioned to senior football by orchestrating one of the most impressive turnarounds of the 2024/25 season with Austrian side SKN St. Pölten. Taking charge of a struggling team sitting 12th after nine matches, he guided the club to a remarkable 40 points from their remaining 19 league games—recording 12 victories and four draws while instilling an attractive, disciplined style of football.
Known for his progressive approach, Tanrıvermiş’s teams are characterized by:
- Structured build-up play and tactical flexibility
- High-intensity pressing and modern positional football
- A fierce commitment to youth development, perfectly aligning with the core philosophy of Hibernians FC.
Club and Coach Look to the Future
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Tanrıvermiş stated:
“It is a great honour to join Hibernians FC. From my first conversations with the club, I felt genuine ambition and a strong desire to continue building something special. I am excited to start working with the players, the staff, and our supporters. Together, we will work every day to build a team that plays high energy football, competes with courage, and makes everyone connected to this club proud.”
Hibernians FC President, Ranier Bezzina, echoed this excitement on behalf of the club:
“We are proud to welcome Tuğberk Tanrıvermiş to our club. His modern coaching philosophy, combined with experience in top European academies, aligns perfectly with our vision for the future. We believe he has the qualities to take Hibernians forward both domestically and in European competition.”
Tanrıvermiş will begin his duties immediately, taking full charge of first-team preparations ahead of the upcoming season, with the definitive objective of building a competitive and dynamic squad capable of challenging for top honours.
